1. Different waterproof durability
The waterproof durability of waterproof fabrics is longer and the physical and chemical properties are more stable; while the waterproof durability of water-repellent fabrics is shorter than that of waterproof fabrics, and the physical and chemical properties are not as stable as waterproof fabrics.
2. Different water pressure resistance indicators
The water pressure resistance index of waterproof fabrics is usually above 3000MM, while the water pressure resistance index of water-repellent fabrics is lower than 3000MM.
3. Invalid due to washing
Waterproof fabrics usually do not fail due to washing and long-term use, while water-repellent fabrics will gradually weaken or even fail with washing and long-term use.
4. The specific functions applied to clothing are different.
A waterproof treatment is a completely impermeable barrier that keeps water out regardless of whether the fabric is absorbent or not. The main function of the water-repellent treatment is to reduce the adsorption of water by the fabric, so that the water can be "pushed away" on the surface of the fabric.
